Loza Maléombho AW13
It’s barely spring in most parts of the northern hemisphere, but the Autumn Winter collections are rolling out. Born in Brazil with roots in Cote d’Ivoire and Central Africa, designer Loza Maléombho’s womenswear has been making waves Stateside. For Autumn/Winter 2012 she fashioned Touareg shapes with Kente cloth, and for Spring/Summer 2013 she drew on Akan and Baoulé traditions to futuristic results. For AW13 she’s using Ghanaian kente/cotton against lace to create a more buttoned-up 19th Century feel. Read an interview here and follow her using the links below.
